God Has Forgotten Me...
When I feel as God has forgotten me and I’m all alone, I need to grab hold of…
Isaiah 49:15-16 – “Can a woman forget her nursing child, that she should have no compassion on the son of her womb? Even these may forget, yet I will not forget you. Behold, I have engraved you on the palms of my hands…”
It seems like people are busier and more connected today than at any other time in history, yet modern life is often accompanied by a sense of profound loneliness. Even Christians can often times feel as if God has forgotten us. Perhaps you’ve been tempted to wonder whether God really cares about you, especially in light of what you’re facing today. Or perhaps, it’s been a long time since you came to church or even tried to pray and now you’re convinced that God has lost any interest in you. Or perhaps, you are just experiencing a profound sense of loneliness and abandonment and there doesn’t seem to be any explanation at all. Child of God, let Isaiah 49:15-16 wash over you this morning and know that He has engraved you on the palms of His hands and He has promised that He will not forget you.
